

Jack Dennis, 88, was born on September 5, 1923 and passed away on November 24, 2011 in a local hospital. After a long battle with Parkinson’s and more recently, a broken hip, he went to be with the Lord. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Vera Dennis; his wife of 60 years, Beth Dennis; his brother, Keith Mims; and his son-in-law Ron Fittz. Jack is survived by his daughter, Sherry Manning and Jerry of Orange, TX; his son, Dr. Allan Dennis and wife, Elaine of Moss Bluff, LA; five grandchildren, who will always affectionately remember him as Daddy-D: Mary Beth Rose and husband, Daniel of Orange, TX, Mark Fittz and wife, Michelle of Honduras, Scott Dennis and wife, Amy of Ragley, LA, Chad Dennis and wife, Mallori of Moss Bluff, LA, Jack Dennis and wife, Brandi of Youngsville, La. Mr. Dennis also leaves behind 10 great-grandsons and 3 great-granddaughters. Jack retired from Conoco in Westlake after 30 years of employment and enjoyed another 30 years of retirement. He enjoyed woodworking, golf, and traveling. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Westlake for over 80 years. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was especially proud of the fact that all 5 grandchildren graduated from college and helped to make sure that happened. He was our hero. His funeral will be 3 p.m. Saturday, November 26, 2011 at First Baptist Church in Westlake. Dr. Wayne McEntire and Rev. Daniel Rose will officiate. Pallbearers assisting in his service will be his grandsons and great grandsons. Burial will be in Westlake Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church on Saturday from 2 p.m. til the start of service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home.
