Mr. Holbrook was born June 3, 1939 in Lake Charles, LA and lived in Westlake most
of his life. He retired from Gene Kile, Inc. His prior employment includes oil gauging at Conoco Refinery; Operator's Local; and service attendant for Mr. Pete Kile.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing his banjo, and above all riding his Harley Motorcycle with his friends.
Mr. Holbrook was of the Pentecostal religion and attended the 1st United Pentecostal
Church in DeQuincy, LA.
Mr. Holbrook is survived by his wife of 37 years, Kathleen Holbrook of Westlake; son, James Michael Holbrook, Sr. of Lake Charles; step-son, Wayne McGuire of Westlake;
4 grandsons- James "Mikey" Holbrook, Jr. of Westlake; and Richard Holbrook, Cody Holbrook, and Nicholes Holbrook of Lake Charles; 1 granddaughter- Britni Portie of Sulphur. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Kathryn Holbrook and his first
wife, Ella Lois Grumbell.
A celebration of his life will be at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at Hixson Funeral
Home in Westlake. Brother T.D. Cardwell will officiate. Burial will follow in Westlake Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Tuesday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the start of the service on Tuesday.
