He was a native of Lake Charles, LA. and a lifelong resident of Sulphur, LA. Jason graduated from Sulphur High School Class of 1988 and from ITI Technical College earning an Associate Degree in Instrumentation. He used this degree and knowledge in the petrochemical plants for the next 30 years. Jason then founded Vinyl & More in Sulphur and continued to serve Southwest Louisiana. He enjoyed his work but on rare occasions you could find him fishing. Jason was very family oriented, loved jeeps and rooting for LSU.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Angela Burns Derrick of Sulphur, La., Son, Charles Evan Derrick of Austin, Tx., Daughters, Carlee Elise Derrick and Cydney Erin Derrick both of Sulphur, La., ,Father, Larry Derrick and wife Linda of Sulphur, La., Mother, Audrey Foster Clark and husband Roger of Dayton, Tx., Sisters, Amy Elizabeth Zacharias of Houston, Tx., and Kathryn Jane Chatwin of Webster, Tx.
Serving as Pallbearers are Andrew Zacharias, Evan Derrick, Brayden Chatwin, Brad Youngblood, Corbin McEntire, Caleb McEntire, Chris Pulver and Chris Derrick.
Visitation will be at Hixson Funeral Home in Westlake, La. on Saturday, August 20, 2022 beginning at 9:00 A.M. with the Funeral Service at 11:00 A.M. in the Westlake Hixson Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Wayne McEntire & Rev. Lindsey Burns will officiate. Burial will follow at Westlake Memorial Park Cemetery, Westlake, La.
