He was a member of St. John Bosco Catholic Church, and a 3rd and 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 5755. He loved to fish and hunt and was an avid gardener.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Yvonne O. Sylvester of Westlake; son, Steven C. Sylvester of Rock Hill, S.C.; daughters, Linda Gale Lee and husband, Jeff of Marriottsville, MD, Ginger E. Vaughan and husband, Ted of Lakewood, OH, Dee M. Cobb and husband, Ricky of Spring, TX; 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
His funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday, April 16, 2010 at St. John Bosco Catholic Church. Rev. Albert Borel will officiate. Burial will be in Westlake Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be at Hixson Funeral Home of Westlake, 5-9 p.m. Thursday and Friday 8 a.m. til time of service. Rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. Thursday evening.
