She was born to parents Telesma and Sarah LaCaze on January 14, 1933, in Cane River, LA. She married Harold Donald Gallien on July 12, 1951, and remained married for almost 72 years.
Maxine loved to babysit, loved to tend to her flower garden, and was an avid hummingbird watcher. She loved hummingbirds so much that her house decor was just that --- hummingbirds!
Alongside her passion for her flower garden and hummingbirds, she discovered she also had a passion for floral work. She became a licensed florist and enjoyed working for many years at A Daisy A Day in Lake Charles, LA, and The Flower Barrell in Westlake, LA. In her golden years, she enjoyed being a food sample hostess for Market Basket.
