My heart was truly broken at the loss of my stepdad Ned. I’ve been struggling to wrap my head around it the last few days. 
I cannot express the happiness tonight celebrating Ned’s life; I loved all the stories, and I know there are so many more! To have the Marine color guard & taps, a Power Squadron ringing of the 8 bells and his last call 😢, ACTS people lifting up Ned then the rosary by Paul, it was amazing to see so many aspects of his life in one room. 
I hope I represented the Ned that I know as a father to everyone. He’s already missed but I know he’s no longer suffering and that he’s looking down on us with his big, beautiful smile.

We will always remember Ned as being a kind, caring person.  Ned always had that beautiful smile on his face.  He was a great Christian example for all of us.
Rest in peace.  God bless!

Ned was a true friend that would do anything for you and always make you laugh.  He will be missed.

Dear Sheryl, Ken and I were so sorry to hear of the passing of Ned.  Everyone loved Ned, including us.  Neither of us ever met a man who was more kind and caring than Ned.  He would actually do anything for you.  We will treasure the years we were fortunate to know him.  We live in Annapolis, MD, near our daughters.  Our retirement community is nice but our hearts and roots will always be in Lake Charles. God bless you and your family.  Ken and Diane Wilkinson

My sincere condolences for the Dautriel’s Family Ned Will always be remembered in our hearts ❤️

Ned was a great guy always had a smile, loved to fish , great plumber, and a great friend rest in peace old friend

My dearest brother in law. We going to miss you so much. We love the special times you showed up to do some ice fishing. Our chickens were so happy to see you. They loved it when you and LJ would feed them.  We loved when you would come to eat boiled crabs. It was so nice to watch you an Leon and LJ  telling stories while cracking crabs together. It was funny to listen to you guys yelling at each other cause neither one of you could hear. That was such a Blessing to have you all together. Or the times we would go over and visit at Leon's house on his back porch. I could hear everything you guys were talking about. Great memories. You loved your life you always had a smile on your face no matter how your were feeling. You never met a stranger, an you would come a tell us about your travels. LJ loved spending time with you. Were going to miss you so much. God be with you Ned. We love you so much.  Lots of love and prayers for you honey.

Your Marine Corps family is saddened by the passing of a great friend, patriot, and Marine. His friendship and concern for our Purple Fox shipmates is greatly appreciated. He stood by “Steiny” and others in their time of need. Neddy will be greatly missed. 
My prayer for the family during this time is that they may
walk through the Garden of Memories remembering the precious moments that life brought to them. The Scripture speaks of a great reunion when Jesus returns 1 Thessalonians 4. 
May we all share in that glorious time.

Condolences to the Dautriel Family at this time. Mr. Ned was always happy and  we enjoyed  talking with him  each time he was sent to our school for repairs.

Jim and I consider it a privilege to have known Ned. Always smiling and laughing and willing to lend a helping hand. Had great times on scuba diving trips and get togethers on special occasions.

Ned and I went to school together, shared many of the classes together in High School. Graduated together Westlake Class of 1966. I really did not see Ned often after that, but when we would meet he always had a big smile and was jolly. Since I have retired I did have the privilege of sitting with Ned at our monthly class meetings. Rest in Peace my friend.

A good man  a good Marine and a good friend gone to  join  our comrades  who now stand muster on Gods flight line .

He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Sheryl Dautriel; daughter Sasha Easley, husband Mike and girls Michael and Alex; son Travis Laughlin and boys Brody and Trevor; siblings Earline Ann Hennigan, L.J. Dautriel Jr. and wife Rita, and John Dautriel and wife Pam, and sister-in-law Kristin Dautriel.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard Joseph Dautriel Sr. and Ironie Marie Dautriel, sister Jeanette Jessen, and brothers Michael and Leon Dautriel.
