Reba Anita Mayo

Reba Anita (Buller) Mayo passed away from this life on May 17, 2016 after a valiant battle to ovarian cancer at the age of 57 years young. She was born in Lake Charles, La. on November 27, 1958 and lived most of her life as a resident of Westlake, La.

Throughout her life she accomplished many goals she set out to achieve. She received a medical secretary degree from Clark College and was enlisted in the U.S. Army National Guard stationed at Fort Dix, New Jersey. She also was a licensed beautician/cosmetologist, the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary President, along with being a member of Midway Pentecostal Church in Jena, La. where she was a Sunday school teacher and always helped where needed.

Wife of Rev. Tony Mayo of Jena, La. and stepmother to Jeremy G. Mayo, Raigan G. Mayo and Mia M. Boyd (Ashley). Loving grandmother to Chance Brooks, Abigail and Karleigh Boyd.

She was preceded in death by her precious daughter Carolyn Elizabeth Buller, her father and mother, C.O. and Bernice (Woodard) Buller. Grandparents- James and Davina (Bruney) Buller / Kirvee and Ruby (Parker) Woodard. Mother in law – Louella D. Mayo (wife of Rev. Everett Mayo Sr.)

She was a devoted sister to four brothers and three sisters along with their spouses: Randy (Ilean) Buller, Russ (Loris) Buller,Rod (Karen) Buller, Ricky (Christina) Buller, Ruby (Keith) Roessler, Rhonda (Blake) Cole, Regenia (Kevin) Manuel.

Some of her greatest joys in life were her 93 nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces.

Arrangements will be held at Hixson Funeral Home in Westlake, La. by her Pastor, Rev. Kevin J. Manuel. Visitation will be Saturday, May 21, 2016 from 5:00pm – 9:00pm and Sunday, May 22, 2016 from 12:00pm – 1:30pm with the service to follow at 2:00pm.

She will be laid to rest at Westlake Memorial Cemetery with commencement by Rev. Rod Buller and prayer by Rev. Ricky Buller. The pall bearers will be her nephews and great nephews. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com
