Shirley Lynn Griffin

She was a retired school bus driver after 12 years. She also worked as a security guard with Conoco and was a Westlake Police Officer. Most of all, she was a fantastic Mother and Friend. She was Lifelong member of the First Assembly of God Church in Westlake rededicating her life to the lord in 2014.

She is survived by a son David Q. Griffin of Merryville, La.; 3 daughters, Faynell Griffin of Westlake, Denise Dyson of Merryville, La., and Carolyn Rae Spikes and husband Scott of Perryville, AR. She is also survived by a brother, Edward Lee Cole of Westlake. She leaves behind 6 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her first husband and father of her six children, P.A. Griffin, sons Tommy Lee Griffin, Christopher “Keekoo” Griffin, and one brother Arthur Stephen Cole.

Visitation will be Friday, January 9, 2015 from 10 am to 9 pm at Hixson Funeral Home in Westlake and will resume Saturday, January 10, 2015 at 10:00 am until the start of services.

Her service will be Saturday, January 10, 2015 at 2 pm at the funeral home. Pastor Andrew Martin will officiate. Burial will follow at Westlake Memorial in Westlake.
