Steven Turner

He lived his younger life in Beaumont. His family moved to Westlake, LA in 1963. He attended Western Heights Elementary, S. P. Arnett Junior and Westlake High School Steven was a member of Boy Scout Troop 86.

He also graduated from Sowela Technical Institute first as a Diesel Mechanic and later as an Instrument Tech.

Steve traveled the US and also worked overseas in instrumentation. He was honorably discharged from the Navy in 1972.

Steve never married.

Steve is preceded in death by his father, Cecil Wayne and his brother, Robert Lee.

He is survived by his brothers, Leonard of Moss Bluff, Christopher of Houston, Texas, James and wife, Susan of Conway, Arkansas and Daniel and wife, Angie of Frisco, Texas; sisters, Barbara of Moss Bluff, Linda of Moss Bluff and Anne and husband, Mike of Gainesville, Georgia.

Steven was the proud uncle of Brian and Kayla Venable, Patrick Turner, Allison Turner, Kelly Turner Dement and husband, Mark, Natalie Turner and Sarah Turner. He was a proud great granduncle to Maggie Mae Turner and Cade Richard Dement.

Services will be held at 6pm on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at Hixson Funeral Home of Westlake. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 2pm until the time of the service. A Rosary will be held at 4pm led by Sr. Jean Ann, his aunt. Deacon Garrett Caraway, Jr. will officiate. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com.
