She was born in Lakewood, the daughter of the late Stephen and Mary (Barth) Tischler. Cecilia was the beloved wife of the late Richard; loving mother of Richard Jr., Ronald (Diane), Nancy (Terry) Brennan, Russell (Suesan), Karen (Michael) Atwell, Marlene (David) Culbertson, Robert (Andrea) and Susan (Christopher) Semancik; cherished grandmother of Mark (Megan), Jason (Alyssa), Matthew, Sarah (Michael), Timothy (Lynn), Nicholas, Kurt, Halle (Collin), Alex, Bradley and Andrew and great-grandmother of Kate, Cash, Azari, Tyrese, Ryder, Sydney, Timothy Jr., Evangeline, Olivia, Violet, Cody; dear sister of Edward Tischler and Stephen Tischler (deceased); adored aunt and friend of many.
Cecilia was devoted to her faith and has been an active member of Saint Bernadette Parish for almost 60 years. She was part of their guild, garden club and generous to the church. Cecilia also volunteered at the American Cancer Society’s resale shop (Gazebo) for over 10 years as well as the St. Augustine’s hunger center. She had a talent for interior decorating and loved gardening. Cecilia was an excellent cook and passed on many family recipes which were traditions at holiday celebrations. She contributed to many charitable organizations such as Catholic Charities and various missions. Cecilia was also a devoted Ohio sports fan who rooted for the OSU Buckeyes and the Brown’s and had a passion for watching big tennis tournaments such as Wimbledon.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 8, 2024 from 2PM to 6PM at Corrigan Craciun Funeral Home, 23040 Center Ridge Rd., Westlake. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10:30AM at St. Bernadette Church, 2256 Clague Rd., Westlake. Interment services will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Brook Park, Ohio.
