Constantino "Gus" Callas

CONSTANTINO "GUS" CALLAS, age 82, passed away peacefully Sunday, Dec. 21 with his loving family surrounding him. Beloved husband of 55 years to Estelle (nee Kilalous). Loving father of Anna, Nicholas and Helene Santarelli (Anthony). Dearest Pappou of Eleni and Paschalis. Dear brother of the following deceased: Thanasis and Helen Callas. Gus was an active member of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church and a member of the parish council and the building fund committee for many years. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. As the City of Cleveland's chief engineering inspector, Gus supervised the renovation of Public Square in 1986 under Mayor George Voinovich. Gus was also a gifted artist painting in oils, a hobby he was very passionate about. Gus was a loving and caring family man. All funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 27, 10 a.m. at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 22909 Center Ridge Rd., Rocky River. Rev. Father James Doukas, officiating. The family will receive friends at the CATAVOLOS-BERRY FUNERAL HOME, 23040 CENTER RIDGE RD., WESTLAKE, FRIDAY, 4-8 P.M. TRISAGION SERVICE FRIDAY 7 P.M. Interment Lakewood Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the St. Demetrios Church building fund for capital improvements.
