

He was preceded in death by his wife JoAnne Blott Koch and survived by his partner of 40 years Barbara Myers. He is survived by 4 children Nancy, Linda, Kathy and David, 11 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren.
After attending Miami University, he went to seminary and then to the US Navy as a chaplain, served for the US Marines in Japan during Korean War, then finally to Fort Hamilton with the US Army. He retired as a Captain.
After the military he was a Presbyterian Minister at 3 churches, and then a Student Counselor at Lakewood High School.
A very educated and learned man with a deep appreciation for philosophy, self-reflection and improvement he attended 7 institutes of high learning.
He lived his entire life without serious illness or need for care. At 97 years old he lived alone and was still driving his car.
He will be missed dearly by his family and friends.
A Committal Service will be held at Lakewood Park Cemetery, 22025 Detroit Rd, Rocky River, OH 44116, US, on March 7, 2026, at 1:00 pm.
