FLOAREA ZIMNEA “Maia”, age 100, passed away Monday, February 10, 2025. Beloved wife of the late Jean Dinescu; loving mother of Angela Voiculescu; dear grandmother of Sonia Voiculescu (Hans); great grandmother of Theodor; sister of eight deceased; aunt of many.
Floarea was born May 10, 1924 in Valu Traian, Romania. She worked as a nurse for 40 years helping countless people. However, her greatest joy started after she retired and her granddaughter was born. She was with her since the very first day of life and Sonia was with her Maia on her last day of life. They shared many beautiful memories in between.
Floarea loved gardening, knitting, and was able to fix almost anything that needed repair. She was a woman of great resolve.
Funeral Service Thursday, February 13, at 1pm at St. Mary's Romanian Orthodox Cathedral, 3256 Warren Rd. Interment at Sunset Memorial Park will follow. Parastas (memorial reception) will follow the interment.
Friends and family may call at the Church from 12:30pm to 2pm Thursday.
