Jeffrey R. Mitchell

JEFFREY ROBERT MITCHELL went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, April 10, 2011. After a courageous battle with colon cancer, he passed away peacefully with family and friends at his side. He is survived by his wife and best friend Mary (nee Romph); mother Shirley Mitchell; brother Bernard Mitchell (Donna), sister Jennifer Stark (Patrick); nieces and nephews: Tiffany (Graham) Charkosky (Brian); Brittany Graham, Daniel Graham, Bobby Ambrose, Thomas Ambrose, Hope Clingan, Bradly Clingan, Savannah Wright and Cory Szylakowski; great nephew Benjamin Charkosky. He was preceded in death by his father Bernard Mitchell and his sister, Julie Graham. Jeff was a 1983 graduate of Lakewood High School. He then went to Hocking Tech and obtained a degree in Forestry. He worked for 13 years with The Sherwin Williams Company, which laid the solid foundation for the job that really began his career. As General Manager for Commercial Sales for CertaPro Painters, he loved his job, loved what he did and loved the people he worked with. He always said, "how can I call this work when I love it so much". Jeff was passionate about everything in his life. He was an avid fisherman; it did not matter if it was perch fishing in late August or walleye fishing in mid February - nothing could stop him from dropping that line in the water and bringing up the next great fish. He was passionate about his friends, his family and his wife. In recent years, his passion for his faith and serving in compassion ministries became very important to him. His big heart, his loving spirit and his kind words touched everyone he served. VISITATION WILL BE AT CRACIUN BERRY FUNERAL HOME, 23040 CENTER RIDGE RD., WESTLAKE, OH ON WEDNESDAY, APRIL 13 FROM 1 P.M. TO 4 P.M. and 6 P.M. to 9 P.M. Memorial service will be held at The Rock Community Church, 9403 Garfield Boulevard, Garfield Heights, OH on Thursday, April 14, 2011 at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Rock Community Church Youth Summer Lunch Program.
