

KOMNINOS (KARL) S. FOTINOS, M.D., 63, died peacefully in Westlake, OH., on December 27, 2014. Beloved husband of 34 years to Maria (nee Coccas); adored father of Sophia and Rena; cherished brother of Maria (Emmanuel Eleutheriou); and beloved uncle of George, Stavros, Peter and Andrew. Born January 29, 1951 in Lekka, Samos Greece to Stavros and Sophia Fotinos. He pursued his dream of becoming a doctor and attended and graduated from The National & Kapodistrian University of Athens Medical School in Athens, Greece. He served as Staff Physician in the Greek Air Force prior to moving to Cleveland. Dr. Fotinos specialized in Internal Medicine and practiced for 30 years on Cleveland's Westside. He had a true compassion for medicine and getting to know each of his patients. He always felt that the best way to care for a patient is to personally get to know each one. He was on staff at Lutheran and Fairview Hospitals and Medical Director at Rae-Ann and Algart Nursing Homes. Family will visit with friends on TUESDAY, DECEMBER 30 FROM 2-4 AND 6-8 P.M WITH A TRISAGION AT 7 P.M. AT THE CATAVOLOS-BERRY FUNERAL HOME, 23040 CENTER RIDGE ROAD IN WESTLAKE. Funeral services will be held on December 31 at 10 a.m. at St. Demetrios Church, 22909 Center Ridge Road in Rocky River. Rev. Father James Doukas officiating. Interment Lakewood Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Dr. Fotinos Scholarship Fund at St. Demetrios Church or LifeBanc at lifebanc.org.
