Barry Korngiebel, of Thousand Oaks, California, passed away on November 24, 2025, at the age of 86. He was born on June 2, 1939, in Oak Park, Illinois, where he was raised by his parents Arthur and Helen, alongside his sister, Arlene. As a young man, Barry loved playing basketball with neighborhood friends and attended Fenwick High School before continuing his education at Xavier University.
An entrepreneur and self-taught craftsman, Barry founded Geppetto Imports and Restoration, which he owned and operated in Westlake Village for more than 40 years. He was also an avid sports fan and lifelong baseball card collector.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jean Korngiebel. Together, they were active members of their church and sang together in the church choir.
Barry is survived by his three children, Lori, Joseph, and Amy; his stepson, Christopher; and five grandchildren.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Belmont Village Senior Living and Buena Vista Hospice for their compassionate care and support during Barry’s final days.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks-Griffin Memorial Park, Mortuary & Crematory, located at 5600 Lindero Canyon Road, Westlake Village, CA 91362, on December 8, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Barry’s honor to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America.
