

Constance “Connie” Marie May-Bavis, 66, of West Hills, California, passed away on July 29, 2025. She was born on June 18, 1959, in Peru, Illinois, and grew up in Downers Grove, Illinois. Connie graduated from Northern Illinois University before moving to California in 1981, where she built her life and career.
On February 22, 1997, she married the love of her life, Harry Martin Bavis. Together they made their home in West Hills, where they shared countless memories with friends and cherished each other’s company until Harry’s passing in January 2014.
Connie was the beloved daughter of Nancy May and the late Richard May (2002). She is survived by her mother, Nancy; her sister, Robin Oliver, and Robin’s husband, Marc; and her nieces, Ashley Williamson (husband Josh and their three sons, Liam, Oliver, and Nolan) and Allison Coates (husband Michael and their son, Weston, with a second son, Walker, soon to arrive). She also cherished her extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, and the grandchildren she gained through marriage.
A dedicated professional, Connie spent her entire career in the insurance industry, where she was known as a fierce and collaborative underwriter who valued teamwork and integrity, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues and friends alike.
Outside of work, Connie lived life with energy and joy. She loved playing tennis and bocce ball, and she was especially fond of her cats, who brought her endless companionship. Connie will be remembered for her warm spirit and devotion to family.
Connie’s ashes, together with Harry’s and those of their beloved cats, will be scattered privately as a final tribute to their love and companionship.
She will be deeply missed for her kindness, humor, loyalty, and love of family.
