Debra Ann Blumenthal, 68, of Westlake Village, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2026, after a seven-year journey with Alzheimer's disease. Known to all who loved her as Debbie, she was a woman of quiet strength, deep faith, and unwavering devotion to her family.
Debbie was born in Metairie, Louisiana, to Angelo and Roby Flores. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Business from Mississippi College before embarking on a career that broke new ground — she became one of the first women to hold a Sales Manager title in the Los Angeles area, leading teams in technology and mailing equipment sales. In a later chapter, she built a successful career as a residential real estate agent serving Westlake Village and the surrounding communities, earning the trust and loyalty of clients and colleagues alike.
Her love story began in Chicago in 1978, when a girl from New Orleans met a boy from Los Angeles. She and Marty Blumenthal made their life together in Southern California, raising their family and building a home defined by faith, tradition, and love. Debbie was a devoted member of Calvary Community Church and was active in the Westlake Women's Golf Club, the Republican Women's Club, the Westlake Village Newcomers Club, and the Westlake Yacht Club. She cherished afternoons on Westlake Lake aboard her electric boat and shared a lifelong love of travel with her husband. And through it all, she remained a proud New Orleans Saints fan.
Above all, Debbie lived for her family. She was the keeper of traditions — the holidays, the family dinners, the gatherings that hold people together across years and distance. Her greatest joy in her final years was her grandson, Owen James, whom she adored and looked forward to watching grow up.
Debbie is survived by her husband, Marty Blumenthal; her sons Mark Blumenthal and his wife Niki, and Steven Blumenthal; her grandson Owen James Blumenthal; her in-laws Jeanie and Leslie; and her sister Patty Flores.
The family wishes to express their deep gratitude to Senior Concerns, Family Care Cottages, and Buena Vista Hospice Care for their compassionate care, patience, and support throughout Debbie's illness.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date, as Debbie wished.
Interment is private, for immediate family.
