Diane Elizabeth Johnson Casey passed away in Thousand Oaks on September 14th at the age of 78. By her side was the love of her life, her dear husband Earl Gomberg (Chicago, Ill). Born on April 30th, 1942, to Margaret St. John Terry and Buford J. Johnson, Jr, M.D., plastic surgeon, Diane had a sister, Melinda Terry Johnson Gordon (deceased) and was aunt to her two nieces, Stacey Michelle Gordon and Stephanie Diane Gordon (deceased). She was an adoring mother to her daughter Kristine Denise “Kadie” Casey and grandmother to Cosimo and Anina Gaudio. Additionally she enjoyed a loving relationship with her husband’s son and wife Scott and Danielle, and their son, Jordan Parker Gomberg.

A multi-generation Angeleno, Diane grew up in Cheviot Hills and lived in many parts of Los Angeles, including West Los Angeles, Hancock Park, and the Pacific Palisades, before settling in Thousand Oaks. She attended Good Shepard Elementary School, was a graduate of Hamilton High School, and attended Stephens College in Missouri. In addition to a lifelong career in the medical adminstration field, Diane was a volunteer with the Assistance League in Los Angeles and Thousand Oaks.

Friends and family will forever hold Diane in their hearts remembering her for her vibrant blue eyes and red lipsticked smile, her sharp sense of humor, a love of Jeopardy and british mystery shows, Los Angeles haunts such as the Apple Pan, her love for desserts, showing kindness to those her helped her, and her deep devotion to her husband, Earl.
