Donald Arthur Perreault (February 10, 1926 – March 27, 2017) It is with sadness that the family of Donald Perreault announces his passing at the age of 91. He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Annette, Denise, Madeleine, Jacqueline, Suzanne, John, and James, as well as his numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, to whom he was affectionately known as “Pépère".
Donald and two brothers, Dick and Roger, were natives of Detroit, and after their parents' early passing, spent their formative years in North Adams, Massachusetts, with their aunts. "Don" joined the Navy during World War II and served as a radar technician for PB4Y-1 antisubmarine bombers in Morocco and the Azores. After the war, he earned an Electrical Engineering degree from Illinois Institute of Technology. During his career, he worked for General Electric and Xerox and was awarded 20 U.S. patents for his innovations. Also upon returning home from the military, Don met the love of his life, Phyllis Anderson. “Marrying her was the best thing I ever did," he said. Together they raised seven wonderful children and lived in New York, Texas, and then California before Phyllis was taken too early by cancer at age 56 in 1986. Don retired soon thereafter and pursued his lifelong fascination with airplanes and flying as a member of Experimental Aircraft Association. He also spent a great deal of time visiting with his expansive family.
Donald will rest next to his beloved wife on a hilltop at Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks Memorial Park, overlooking the Conejo Valley, which was his home for the last 40 years.
