Jacqueline Masry was born on June 28, 1941 and grew up in Burbank, California. She took immense pride and joy in her three children Louanne, Louis, and Nicole, and their spouses David, Dianne, and Mark. She loved her parents, Jack and Bertille Wilson, her brother Warren, her sisters Lynne, Kathy, and Debbie, and her many nieces and nephews. But to Jackie, her most precious gift was being “Grammie” to her six grandchildren - Mark Jr., Paige, Edward, Robert, Nicholas, and Lauren.
Jackie was full of life and had many diverse interests. She loved dancing and R & B music. She was a great cook who loved to feed everyone. She loved the holidays, and would impeccably decorate the house and host the entire family, making sure to cook everyone’s favorite dishes. She was a career woman who owned a car dealership, ran a law firm, and enjoyed working as a bookkeeper. She enjoyed sports and played softball, had a great golf swing, and loved to bowl. Jackie was artistic and loved to paint, draw, knit, and do crafts. She spent many years painting ceramics and even had her own kiln in her home, where she would teach classes. Jackie spent many hours needle pointing and made beautiful pillows and framed pieces that she often gifted to her children, family, and friends.
Jackie loved to have a good time and had so many wonderful friends. One of her favorite places to visit was Laughlin, Nevada, where she would compete in slot tournaments and would clean the house with royal flush jackpots. She loved betting the ponies and even owned a race horse at one time. She loved all things baseball, and especially the Dodgers.
Jackie loved the ocean and was an incredible swimmer and body surfer. She was happiest when she was near the water, and spent many summers in Del Mar enjoying the sounds of the waves and standing out in the water at sunset. She enjoyed going on cruises with her family and friends. Jackie loved to travel and went to Japan, all around Europe, the Panama Canal, Mexico, the Bahamas and the Virgin Islands. She enjoyed both lake and ocean fishing and always caught the biggest fish.
It is hard to imagine our lives without Jackie, but she will remain in our hearts and memories forever. She was one of a kind. She was the most generous, warm, and considerate person to everyone she knew. She lit up a room. She loved to be around people, and her greatest gift was making people feel loved and appreciated. She was our biggest cheerleader. She was adored by so many who will fondly miss her smile, her laugh, and her caring words.
