Jeanette Marie Poe

Jeanette M Poe of Hemet, California passed away on Friday, March 31, 2023 at the age of 78. She was born on May 8, 1944 in Monrovia, California. She grew up in Hemet. She and her family made many trips to Susanville to her grandparents’ ranch, and also to Kansas to see family.

She graduated from Hemet Union High School with the Class of 1963.

Jeanette worked at Bourne Aerospace where she held positions such as circuit board assembly and part manufacturing, to name a few. She was also a ranch manager and homemaker.

Jeanette was very passionate about animals and ranch life. Many pictures of her are often with her beloved animals. She had a donkey by the name of Mr. Jackson, who absolutely loved her. Mr. Jackson enjoyed playfully chasing Jeanette, and he loved her so much that he came running to her when he saw her. When Jeanette’s children wanted to ride Mr. Jackson, Jeanette had to walk with him or he would not budge.

The ranch life that Jeanette loved also included the people and the activities. At least once a year the ranch was in charge of the yearly roundup. Food was always prepared for the cowboys participating in the roundup. There was a roundup one year, fondly remembered, when Jeanette was in charge of making the chilli. Somehow, a pot holder made it into the chilli. When one of the cowboys was scooping out his lunch, he found a surprise in his bowl of chilli. They all had a good laugh and had fun teasing her.

Jeanette is preceded in death by her parents Dale Harlan Glasser and Gladys Marie Glasser, and her husband Arnold Brooks Poe.

She is survived by her brother and sister and their families, three children and five grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank DeeDee Poe for the care and compassion she showed her mom while taking care of her for the last several years. DeeDee was always there for her mom, loving her and caring for her needs. The family would also like to thank Sugar Maple Senior Care for the care and compassion provided to Jeanette in her final days.
