JoAnn Schmoll of Thousand Oaks, CA passed away due to complications of Parkinson’s disease on Monday December 15, 2025 at the age of 82. JoAnn was born on September 14, 1943 in Louisville, Kentucky where she grew up alongside her sisters, Connie and Teresa. Her father, Delbert, served in the military during World War II. Her mother, Flossie, passed away at a young age but was remembered fondly by JoAnn. As a child, JoAnn spent time with her Aunt Bea and Uncle Steve on their family farm in Wildcat, Kentucky. JoAnn moved to Southern California in 1963 with her beloved husband, Ted.
JoAnn was a devoted mother and wife. While homemaking was her primary joy, she also worked as a real estate agent and as well as at the Sisters of Notre Dame convent and First Baptist Church-both located in Thousand Oaks, CA. She was active in her various church communities. JoAnn loved traveling to new destinations and over the years enjoyed cruises around the world with her husband.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband Mariel Theodore Jr. (Ted) and adored Wheaton Terrior, Rusty. She is survived by her daughters, Therese (Terri) and Jennifer (Jenny); son Mariel Theordore III (Ted); son-in-law Matthew Bone; great niece Alex Green; nephew Bill Green; extended family members Margie Reynolds and Mary Ann Huddleston. Our prayers and love are with her.
The family would like to thank our church communities, her hairdresser Jennifer and her manicurist Lisa for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in her final days.
