

He was born in Long Beach, CA to Clifford and Daisy Kingsley, on August 3, 1932. As an only child, he grew up in Glendale, CA and participated in the Boy Scouts with his dad and neighborhood kids. John graduated from Hoover High School in 1950, and attended Glendale City College before he was drafted into the United States Army in 1954. He did his basic training at Fort Ord and was stationed in San Antonio, TX before he was honorably discharged in 1956. He went to Chouinard Art Institute in Los Angeles before beginning a long career as a creative art director. He worked for Litton Data Systems for 25 years before retiring in 1994.
He met Consuelo Climaco while she was touring the United States. They were married on July 9, 1966 in Cebu, Philippines. They settled in Canoga Park and Woodland Hills, and went on to have four children.
John was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling the world with his wife, family and friends. He enjoyed putting together scrapbooks about their travels and listening to classical music.
John is survived by his wife of 47 years, Consuelo Kingsley; daughters Karen DiNatale (Mark) and Johanna Young (Christopher); sons Scott Kingsley (Sarah) and Paul Kingsley; grandchildren Nicholas DiNatale, Noah DiNatale, Charlie Kingsley, Kate Young and Jack Young.
Funeral arrangements will be held at 11:30AM on July 27, 2013 at Chapel of the Oaks located at Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks Memorial Park in Westlake Village, CA.
A reception will follow at the Sheraton Agoura Hills to Celebrate John’s Life.
