Lois Mae Rohlfing

Lois Mae (Lockart) Rohlfing of Ventura, California passed away on June 14, 2023 at the age of 89 . She was born on November 21, 1933 in Maudlow, MT, the daughter of Virgil F. Lockart and Lela C. (Reed) Lockart. The family later moved to Vandalia, IL. She married Wilbert Herman Rohlfing in Augsburg, IL on January 14, 1956.

She graduated from Vandalia Community High School in 1951. Lois worked for various businesses to include Vandalia Community Schools, Vandalia, IL as a school secretary, the US Navy Daycare Center, Port Hueneme, CA as a civil service worker, and Ted Mayer Funeral Home, Ventura CA as a receptionist.

Lois was actively involved in church, community, and local politics. She volunteered with the Rubicon Theatre of Ventura, CA and the Ventura CA City Police Department.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbert H. Rohlfing, mother, Lela C. (Reed) Lockart, father, Virgil F. Lockart, brothers Roy (Gail) Lockart and Michael Lockart, and sister, Dorothy (Cecil) (Lockart) Cheshier.

She is survived by her daughter, Tracy Dolores Rohlfing of Pleasanton, CA, son Christopher Roy (Kim) Rohlfing of Ventura, CA, daughter Sue Ellen (Richard) Gleaves of Oakdale, CA, granddaughter, Sarah Elaine Rohlfing and grandson, Jared Hoke Rohlfing, of Ventura, CA, brother, Gerald F. (Keiko) Lockart of Vandalia, IL, special friendTina Kingery, and nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held in Ventura, CA in July of 2023 and Vandalia, IL in June of 2024 with details to follow.
