Martin O.L. Duplessie

Martin O. L. Duplessie (Marty) passed away at the age of 82 on May 29, 2014 after an extended illness. Martin was born on Nov. 28, 1931 in Portland ME. He married the love of his life, Connie Pistone, in Sept. of 1957.

Marty enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. in 1952. In the early 1970's he opened his first Italian restaurant in Newbury Park, CA. He became a real estate agent in the late 1970's and in the 1980's went on to his calling and love in business serving others with a hearing loss. This is where he found his true passion for helping others. He was Nationally Board Certified in Hearing Instrument Sciences and was one of two people in California who were licensed to dispense hearing aids, nationally, and was written up in Who's Who. He worked for Beltone Miracle Ear and was the manager for the Hearing Aid Department at Costco in Westlake Village, CA until his retirement. He enjoyed music and bowling and was a member of Knights of Columbus in Simi Valley and Newbury Park, CA.

Marty is survived by his beautiful wife, Connie Duplessie; four children, Martin Duplessie, Mark Duplessie (Colleen), Michelle Duplessie and Marcelle Duplessie Moje (Michael); seven living grandchildren: two grandsons, Jason Duplessie and Brandon Duplessie (Maribel); five granddaughters, Nicole Forward (Jason), Ashley Moje, Danielle and Jeanine Duplessie and Kaley Moje; four great grandsons, Mordecai Lopez and Devon, Kameron and Michael Duplessie; sister, Carol Willman (Gene); brother, Walter Duplessie (Faith); and brother-in-law, Henry Perates.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Orville and Marie Duplessie; sister, Marie Perates; and grandson, baby Michael Duplessie.

A viewing will be held on Fri., Jun. 6, 2014 from 5pm to 8pm with a Rosary at 7pm at Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks Memorial Park: 5600 Lindero Canyon Rd., Westlake Village, CA 91362; Phone# 1-818-889-0902. A Memorial Service will be held on Sat., Jun. 7, 2014 at 11am at St. Julie Billiart Catholic Church: 2475 Borchard Rd., Newbury Park, CA 91320.
