Mary Linn Marshall

Mary was born in Los Angeles, CA to Harry Elmer Linn and Christine Evelyn Nelson on November 21, 1924. Later, she became a 49-year resident of Ventura County. Mary died peacefully at home surrounded by family in Newbury Park, CA on June 11, 2013.

She graduated from Benjamin Franklin High School in Los Angeles in January, 1943. She had also attended classes at Moorpark College and the University of Southern California. Mary was a cost accountant with Pacific Bell and Bendix Corp. for a combined 45 years, primarily with Bendix. She always had a great love for golf, cooking and gardening, taking much pride in her roses. Mary loved children and is survived by many “adopted’ grandchildren who knew her as “Grandma Mary”.

Mary was the loving mother to and is survived by Bruce Edmond Marshall (Janis) of Simi Valley, Kirk Alan Marshall (Joan Sarmiento) of Newbury Park, and Judy K Marshall of Newbury Park. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, John Keith Linn, Sr. (Vera Kermode); son, Lynn Anthony Marshall (Judy Carnan), December 7, 2001; and infant daughter, Margaret Christine Marshall, March 1950.

A memorial service will be help at Ascension Lutheran Church: 1600 E. Hillcrest Dr. in Thousand Oaks on Sunday, June 23, 2013 at 2PM. Please wear a cheerful color as that is what Mary requested. Private interment will follow at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to either the Ascension Lutheran Church or King of Glory Lutheran Church music program.
