He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Sally Katz, his son Jonathan, his daughter Katrina, and his granddaughter Madison.
Mike was raised in the Jewish faith but could not find sufficient answers to questions he had about the purpose of life. He knew Christ was a "GOOD" man but when the truth of the Bible was revealed to him and provided satisfying answers to the questions he had, he was eager to become a Jehovah's Witness right away.
He was 28 years old when he found the truth. He was Baptized in 1972 and devoted his first 4 years as a Regular Pioneer. He also pursued Serving where the Need is Great in Nevada and served as a Ministerial Servant and later as an Elder. He met and married Sally in 1979.
Mike was very well known by everyone for his BIG personality. His trademark was that he loved to crack jokes and make people laugh. He loved going out in service and reaching out to people in his ministry and sharing the truth of the Bible with others who were asking the same questions he once had.
One of the Bible promises he held dear to his heart that brought him real comfort despite his battle with cancer was the scripture at Rev 21:3,4.
In this life we are told we are only young once but the truth of the Bible promise is that we are only sick and old once but will be young and healthy again, not for a short time, but for all eternity.
