

Paskel "Pat" Holt passed away in Yuba City on October 24, 2010 after a lengthy battle with bladder cancer. He was born October 23, 1930 in Oklahoma to William and Bonnie Holt. In the middle of the Depression, the Holt family moved to the Central Valley of California. After graduating from high school, Pat joined the United States Air Force and served from 1950 to 1954 during the Korean war. Pat was trained in base security at Camp Gordon, Georgia and was subsequently sent overseas to Weathersfield Air Force base outside of London. He was honorably discharged from the service with the rank of staff sergeant.
Taking advantage of the GI Bill, Pat returned home to enter Fresno State College, graduating in 1958. Pat then began a lengthy career with the IBM Corporation, retiring in 1986. A longtime resident of Westlake Village, Pat enjoyed spending his free time playing tennis at the Thousand Oaks Racquet Club.
Pat was preceded in death by his brothers, Holton and Vaughn Holt, as well as Robert Hawkins, his best friend of 50 years. He is survived by nieces Yvonne Holt of Fresno, Pamela Wiese of Yuba City, Michele Shockley of Fresno, nephew Holton Holt of Fresno, sister-in-law Jean Holt and second family members Michael and John Hawkins of Newbury Park and Catherine Glazer of Westlake Village.
Funeral services will be held Monday, November 1, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Pierce Brothers Cemetery, Westlake Village.
