Patricia H. Springer

Patricia “Pat” Hahn Springer passed away peacefully on April 13, 2023 at the age of 99. She was born on October 25, 1923 in North Dakota where she grew up with her parents Reginald “Rex” Hahn and Josephine “Jo” Griffith Hahn, her brother Maurice “Maurie, and her sister Barbara.

She attended Minot State University and later the University of Minnesota where she met the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Springer. They were married on April 5, 1947 at the House of Hope Presbyterian Church in St. Paul, Minnesota. In 1950, they moved to San Diego, California where she worked as an elementary school teacher until their daughter Joan was born in 1952.

They enjoyed playing golf (Pat got one and then a second Hole in One) and traveling extensively throughout North America, Europe, and Asia. In 2004 they moved from Los Altos, California to Thousand Oaks, California. Together with their daughter Joan, and her husband Bob, they enjoyed attending plays and concerts including the Classical Concert Series at Mount Cross Lutheran Church. Later, Bob and Pat moved to Brookdale Assisted Living in Camarillo, California where Pat continued to play bridge with friends until the “COVID lockdown”.

She is preceded in death by her husband Bob and her brother Maurie.

She is survived by her daughter Joan, her sister Barbara, nephews, and nieces, two of whom commented:

“Aunt Pat was so wonderful! I will always remember her laugh and positive attitude! She had such a full life!”

“She lived a long and wonderful life… She was an amazing person, so strong, loving and she always had it together.”

Her daughter Joan would like to thank her extended family including Mount Cross Lutheran Church, friends, caregivers at Brookdale/Camarillo/Alta Senior Living and Healthcare and St. John’s Hospital Camarillo, and Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks-Griffin Memorial Park for their love, prayers, friendship, care, and compassion.

Extended family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at Mount Cross Lutheran Church, 102 Camino Esplendido, Camarillo, California on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. followed by a reception across the patio or watch the “live”stream on the www.mountcross.com Facebook or YouTube Channel.
