Dr. Sandee Ilene Schlegel of Westlake Village, California, beloved and cherished wife of Steven Doctrow, devoted and loving “Mama Bear” of Samantha Doctrow, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2022 at UCLA Medical Center, Santa Monica, California.
Sandee was the much-loved sister of Jan Brodsky and Beth Rand. Proud “Silly Aunt Sandee” of Jessica Macklin, Jordan Brodsky, Brendan Rand, and Caitlyn Rand. Adored daughter-in-law of Flo Doctrow and sister-in law of Mollie Doctrow. She was a treasured relative, friend and medical colleague of many.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, Sandee was a gifted and accomplished Board Certified Internist and Rheumatologist, and Medical Director for Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield. She was a passionate photographer, world traveler, and avid concert-goer. Sandee touched and impacted thousands of lives and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Her memory is truly a blessing, and she will live on in our hearts forever.
