

Velma was born Velma Jean Kimmel on December 10th, 1936, in Gray, Pennsylvania.
While working as a typist at the FBI in Washington D.C., Velma met John Travis Hall and they were married on November 2nd, 1957, in Washington, DC. The couple had four children together.
Velma was a devoted wife, loving mother, caring grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, sister in-law, cousin, and a true friend to many. In the many places Velma lived, she always immersed herself in the neighborhood and made many friends. When she moved to California in 1974, she and John loved playing tennis and enjoyed many social events. Velma and John were deeply involved with their growing family. Planning family trips and traveling with close friends became a favorite of Velma’s.
Her family and friends will always remember her as a strong, loving, caring, sincere, full of life woman.
She is survived by her two daughters Susan Marie Hall of Westlake Village, CA, Karen Ann Zabel of San Diego, CA, her son James Earl Hall of Ojai, CA, eight grandchildren, John Daniel Hamilton of Westlake Village, CA, Ashley Marlene Kovacs of San Diego, CA, Leann Marie DeWick of Clayton, NC, Russell Travis Zabel of Sacramento, CA, Jamie Ann Zabel of Long Beach, CA, James David Hall of Ojai, CA, Jonathan Dewey Hall of San Diego, CA and Nichole Velma Hall of Westlake Village, CA, seven great grandchildren, Kaitlyn Marie DeWick, Andrew James DeWick, Gemma Faye Zabel, Cord Alexander Kovacs, Emerson Faye Zabel, Quinn Emanual Kovacs and Ryker John Hamilton.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John Travis Hall, daughter Cynthia Lynne Hamilton, her sister Janet Pike and her mother and father, Florence Irene (Berkebile) Kimmel and Earl Richard Kimmel.
A memorial is scheduled for October 5th at 10:00am in the Chapel at Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks-Griffin Memorial Park, 5600 Lindero Canyon Rd. Westlake Village, CA 91362. 818-889-0902.
