To Andy’s mother, family, & friends, my deepest condolences to you all. Andy was more than my co-therapist at the youth shelter, Andy taught me many of the skills that I use to this day and I have nothing but beautiful memories of his kindness, humor, and compassion. Andy had a special energy and carried a bright light everywhere he went. It was an honor to know you & grow by you, my friend. Rest in peace, Andy. We love you.

To Andy’s mother and family, 
Just by mentioning Andy’s name, it takes a life of its own quickly and cheerfully.  That’s because  he is in our hearts and minds occupying a big chunk of real estate in there. 
I was honored to work with Andy for over ten years.  He started as a volunteer at the youth shelter and grew in his commitment to later become a youth specialist and finally, a therapist.  Even though he tried to be unnoticed, this was not possible: Andy counseled, he taught, he lovingly cooked, he cleaned, he fixed, he was our computer genius, he played, he joked, he was the most generous  and was always present.  He supported his coworkers, bosses and community members.   Beyond the scientific realm, his DNA is all over the Shelter.  In one word, Andy was selfless! 
Andy made a difference in the lives of countless youth and was dedicated to helping Improve their  lives, but he also touched the lives of his coworkers. 
And now dear Andy bear, your mission in this world has been completed. We are grateful for all the moments we shared and all that you gave us.  Rest in Peace.

Andy was a kind, loyal, generous, and positive light in our lives. He always had a smile on his face, genuinely cared about how we were doing, and had an infectious laugh that we will never forget. At our friend gatherings your presence will be missed immensely. Thanks for letting us get to know you and build an awesome friendship over the years. May you rest in peace dear friend. Gone but never forgotten.

To Andy’s family and everyone who loved him, my heart is with you. I’m so sorry for this incredible loss. Andy was more than a friend, he was a force. The kind of person you didn’t just meet, you felt. From the moment he walked into a room, his energy was undeniable, raw, honest, passionate, and full of heart. He started out just wanting to help at a youth shelter, but helping wasn’t enough. Andy gave everything. He rose to lead the Youthful Offender Wraparound Program, not just supervising but showing up, fighting for kids, and standing by families when no one else would.

Andy Bear… you didn’t just change systems, you changed people. You changed me. You always showed up. You checked in when I didn’t even know I needed it. You made sure people felt cared for, not just seen, but truly loved. That’s who you were.
I’d joke about how you were always “therapeutizing” me. You never sugar-coated things, always told the truth, even when it was hard to hear. But somehow, it was always what I needed. You helped me grow, even when I rolled my eyes through it. And I loved you for it.
What I’ll miss most is our talks, those daily check-ins, the random texts, the dinners where you spoiled me without hesitation. Time never mattered with you, we always picked up right where we left off.
You made a difference in so many lives. But the one I’ll carry forever is the one you made in mine.
I love you. I miss you. Rest easy, my friend. You gave us everything, and it was more than enough.

It was a great time gaming with you Andy! You were always so helpful and generous, and that carried on from the type of person you were in real life. Rest easy bro.

To Andy’s family: I’m sure you have your own accounts of why Andy is amazing, but I’d like to share that he is one of the best people I’ve ever known. He is generous, deeply intelligent, resourceful, funny, hard working, and very kind at his core. I had the opportunity to both work with him and be his friend and he was there for me in very difficult moments, always making me laugh. You should be so proud of the wonderful man you raised! My deepest condolences to you all. Please know your Andy is very loved by so many of us because that is just the type of person he was❤️
