Jeanne Anne Hifo (Mallonee) was born on 12 November 1959 in Compton, California and died on 28 July 2022 in Murrieta, California. She is the daughter of Walter Lee Mallonee and Adola Marcell Huber. Jeanne grew up in Compton and Long Beach, California. She was the youngest of 6 children, 4 girls and 2 boys. Growing up, her father was a Math Teacher as well as a business owner, so she learned the value of education from him and from her mother, the importance of unconditional love and family. As her sisters were older and had started families of their own, this is where her love of family continued, as she was able to travel to visit them every summer. She loved being able to spend time with her nieces and nephews and knew all of their birthdays and the special events in their lives. Jeanne graduated from Jordan High School in Long Beach, California and attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. During this time, she met and married her husband Limihai Hifo. As family came into play, she decided to put her education on hold and return home to California to start her family: 4 children, 3 sons and 1 daughter. They were the joy in her life, and throughout the years she also helped and cared for her nephews and all who were in need of a home. Her warm hugs and famous cookies were welcomed by all. She was a stay at home mother for 13 years and loved every minute of it. Over the years, she found time to return to school and was able to complete an Associates Degree in early childhood development at Mt. San Jacinto College. Subsequent to receiving her degree, she had plans to continue in that field, but life had its own plans and she began an honorable 28 year career with the County of Riverside, Department of Public Social Services. At this point in her life, she was able to hold a professional career she enjoyed and enjoy her lovely family simultaneously. She was married to her husband Limihai for 42 years before her passing and lived a long 62 years of giving unconditional love to all. During Jeanne’s life, she was a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and always strived to live a Christ-like life. Everyone who knew Jeanne, recognized how kind, loving and accepting of everyone she was. No matter who you were she loved and accepted you as you were. Some of her most notable hobbies and passions included her grandchildren who were the sparkle of her eye, sewing, baking, canning, traveling to visit family, puzzles and her second love chocolate. She is survived by her husband Sosaia Limihai Hifo, brother and sisters: Dennis Mallonee, Silvia Stout, and Ruby Nielsen, children: John Hifo, Sara Hifo, Thomas Hifo, and Charles Hifo, nephews/sons: Siasivi Hifo, Tonieta Hifo, Petelo Hifo, Aleva Hifo, 29 grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and many others who endearingly referred to her as grandma, “second mom,” and constant friend. Her death was proceeded by her mother Adola, father Walter, brother Melvin Windham, and her sister Nancy Stegeman. The memorial service honoring Jeanne’s life will be held on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at her local church building for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 28150 La Piedra Rd., Menifee, CA 92584. Her viewing for family will take place at 8:00 AM followed by the funeral services at 11:00 AM and burial will commence at 1:00 PM.
