Born on February 20, 1943, in Vietnam, Lien lived a life marked by resilience, faith, and dedication. She began her professional journey as a pharmacist in Vietnam. Following the war, she made the courageous decision to leave her homeland along with her immediate family and some of her extended family members in search of safety and opportunity. Upon arriving in the United States, she faced the immense challenge of rebuilding her life from the ground up with her husband for support at all steps of the way. With determination and perseverance, she earned her pharmacy license once again and reestablished her career in a new country. Once securely in the US, she did not forget those left in Vietnam. Overtime, she was able to sponsor her sister's children to the US to give them better opportunities. She was also reunited with her father.
Throughout her career as a pharmacist in the United States, Lien not only served her patients with care but also extended opportunities to others by providing jobs within her community. Her work ethic and generosity left a lasting impact on those around her.
A devout Catholic, Lien’s faith was central to her life. She was deeply involved in her religious community and supported numerous Catholic charities through regular donations. Her spirituality guided her actions and offered strength throughout life’s challenges.
On her days off, Lien enjoyed shopping and relaxing—simple pleasures that brought joy to her busy schedules. Above all else, she cherished being a loving grandmother.
Lien Thi Khong’s legacy is one of strength, compassion, and unwavering faith. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
