Eulogies :

Abraham Lincoln once said, “In the end, it is not the years in your life that counts – it is the life in your years…[that matters].” This quote couldn't be more fitting as it pertains to our beloved friend Truong and how he lived his life.

When we reflect on Truong’s life – we should smile and laugh as that is what he would have wanted. He loved to laugh and tease all of his friends, especially the girls. When we reflect upon Truong’s life we cannot help but remember what an amazing friend he was. He was full of life and love, with the kindest heart and would help all those around him. He was an amazing volunteer in the Vietnamese community and enjoyed helping others.

Today, with sadness, we must say goodbye to our beloved friend –-Truong, who was often referred to as Tin and Tron. Truong Van Vu Nguyen was born on January 2, 1973. He and his family emigrated from Viet Nam in 1979 and Truong moved to Minnesota in 1990.

I cannot possibly do justice to all of Truong's accomplishments nor am I going to try. So I'll give you a brief over of his accomplishments. Truong was an intellect and loved to learn and he clearly loved school, because I do not know many people who holds five degrees:

• Bachelor of Science in Chemistry

• Bachelor in Computer Science

• Masters in Business Taxation

• Masters in Business Administration

• Graduate Degree from an Ivy league school.

He loved school so much that he even taught a class at Saint Paul College. Now if you're wondering how the hell did this guy have time to get all these degrees and teach -- your head will spin when you I tell you about all his jobs and businesses that he ran!

Truong was a mover and shaker and unlike many of us, he doesn’t have just one job – he liked to juggle multiple jobs. Truong's most recent job was as an IT Specialist but he also worked the late night shift at senior living home helping the senior residents. He had worked at the senior living home for 30 years. When asked by friends why are you working so much? Truong would casually reply, “Why not? I get to sleep in a million-dollar home and got paid for helping elders -- it’s a bargain!” Truong's his tag line is “I’m happy to help!”.

Now, if these two jobs weren't enough, he also set up several businesses specializing in accounting, taxes, and home health care and he successfully ran the businesses with employees!

And he loved computing and finance. Truong's dream was to open a computer center where he could teach youths computer programming. This dream was realized in 2010 when Truong served as a Board of Directors with a pro bono organization that he and his friends ran called, Vietnam Center. He was one of the most active Board members. Truong would spend countless hours at Vietnam Center to make improvements to the building, to organize community and culture events, such art shows, he taught tax preparations classes, helped teach computer skills, and provide any help to those in need in the Vietnamese community that needed help.

Truong was instrumental in the success of Vietnam Center. Vietnam Center helped to preserve the Vietnamese culture and to teach new generation Vietnamese the amazing things that the Vietnamese have done for society and to be proud of our culture and its people and we are definitely proud of our beloved friend, Truong for all he’s done.

He enriched the Vietnamese culture and he enriched the lives of all those he touched. To remember Truong is to remember his laughter, his big heart and how he would help all those around him. Although today we have to say good-bye to our beloved friend, he will not be forgotten and he will remain in our hearts forever.

So until we meet again…we think of you always Truong…we talk about still…you have never been forgotten and you never will be…we hold you close to our hearts and there you will remain…to walk and guide us through our lives…until we meet again…

Trăm năm trong cõi người ta

Chữ tài chữ mệnh khéo là ghét nhau.

Trải qua một cuộc bể dâu

Những điều trông thấy mà đau đớn lòng.

Lạ gì bỉ sắc tư phong

Trời xanh quen thói má hồng đánh ghen.

Theo cụ Nguyển Du thi` "Trời xanh quen thói má hồng đánh ghen.” với Trường ạ!

Trường (Tron/Tin) là Nguyễn Vũ Vân Trường sinh ngày 2 tháng giêng năm 1973 tại Sài Gòn, Việt Nam. Anh là con trưởng của ông Nguyễn Hữu Quý và bà Vũ Thị Hanh. Gia đình rời Việt Nam vào năm 1979. Trường định cư ở Minnesota từ năm 1990.

Gia đình biết Trường từ năm 1997, anh trai mời Trường về nhà ăn mừng vì Trường giúp anh trai tìm việc làm là kỹ thuật viên nha khoa; Trường tận tình giúp anh Dân từ làm bản tóm tắt kỹ thuật xin việc, đến chỉ dẩn anh làm sao đón xe buýt nào để đi phỏng vấn; anh trai nhờ việc làm này để nuôi hai con thành tài đến nay; Trường làm thuế cho tất cả anh chị em trong gia đình; lần cuối gặp Trường ở Phở Pasteur giữ tháng tám với mục đích là tham khảo ý kiến thương mại mới; Anh rất ga lăng, đi ăn bao giờ cũng thầm kín trả tiền;

Trường là người bao giờ cũng tràn đầy tinh thần học hỏi, anh có bằng cử nhân hoá hoc và bằng thạc sĩ về thuế má từ University of Minnesota, Twin Cities; bằng cử nhân về khoa học máy tính từ Augsburg University; bằng thạc sĩ về kinh doanh từ Metro State University; anh có bằng cao đẳng kế toán từ Wharton business college của UPenn với điểm hoàn hảo; anh đam mê học hỏi đến nổi ngoài 2 việc làm, anh còn dạy về quản lý hệ thống thông tin ở trường Saint Paul college.

Nói về sự nghiệp của Trường thì anh là chuyên gia máy vi tính cho quận Hennepin ở Minnesota cho đến năm 2008; làm kế toán viên cho công ty Veritec đến năm 2012, làm nhà phân tích về bảo vệ an toàn cho tiểu bang Minnesota đến năm 2018 và gần đây nhất là chuyên gia máy vi tính cấp cao ở trung tâm Cựu Chiến Binh

Bản chất Trường rất siêng năng, người thường có một việc làm là đủ rồi, nhưng Trường lại đặc biệt hơn người; anh vẫn muốn làm ngay cả khi ngủ nên anh làm đêm ở viện dưỡng lão hơn 30 năm; nếu hỏi anh vì sao làm việc này, anh sẽ trả lời "Tại sao không? Vừa được ngủ ở biệt thự mà còn được trả tiền nữa thi` còn gì bằng!"

Khoảng 20 năm về trước, có lần vô nhà Trường thấy rất nhiều máy vi tính hư, hỏi tại sao để đồ tùm lum, anh nói khi rảnh anh sửa lại và hy vong mở một nơi để dạy thế hệ sau ngôn ngữ lập trình; thế là 10 năm sau, Trường và những người bạn thân như Jonathan Vũ, Long, Alyssa là những thành viên hội đồng quản trị lâu năm cho trung tâm Việt Nam, phục vụ cộng đồng ở Minnesota về máy vi tính, kế toán, thuế má và giấy tờ về pháp luật.

Một bí mật mà chỉ bạn thân mới biết là Trường có máu thương mai. Ngoài những việc làm kể trên, Trường lập ra 3 thương mại nhỏ chuyên về kế toán, thuế má và dịch vụ chuyên làm giấy tờ cho những người thân chăm sóc người nhà để họ được ở bên cạnh con cháu thay vì vào viện dưỡng lão!

Trường chọn lối sống rất thanh đạm, có thể nói là hơi hẹp hòi với chính mình nên thường bị trêu là quá tiết kiệm nhưng thực ra anh rất rộng rãi với bạn bè! Tết niên năm 2020 đám bạn tụ tập tại nhà hàng UGarden để ăn mừng năm mới, anh bao hết một bàn đám bạn!

Tinh thần học hỏi và sự hiếu kỳ của Trường rất đa dạng! Từ máy vi tính, kinh doanh, đến sửa sang nhà cửa! Người thường thấy Trường tự làm những dự án nhà cữa thì nói anh tiết kiệm! Bạn bè lâu năm sẽ hiểu rằng tiết kiệm thì có nhưng đó chỉ là phần trội thội! Phần chính là vì tinh thần học hỏi, tánh siêng năng và sự hiếu kỳ!

Cô Elisa Lê phát biểu “Cộng đồng VN MN mất đi một người làm thiện nguyện tốt và có trái tim nhân ái”. Anh bạn khác phụ hoạ "Trường là người bạn tài đức vẹn toàn". Thôi thì mình theo cụ Du:

"Cũng đừng trách lẫn trời gần trời xa

Thiện căn ở tại lòng ta

Chữ tâm kia mới bằng ba chữ tài.

Châu xin thay mặt cộng đồng Việt Nam ở tiểu bang Minnesota thành kính phân ưu cùng gia đình và xinh tạm biệt Trường, người anh hiền lành và luôn mỉm cười với mọi viêc.
