Agnes was born January 20, 1918 in Hoboken, NJ to Catherine and Cornelius Coffey. She led a life of quiet dignity. Born and raised in a tumultuous era marked by war and economic depression she lived the values of the Greatest Generation. A generation of ordinary people who lived extraordinary but humble lives of hard work, sacrifice, patriotism and faith. She may have looked delicate, but she had an underlying core of strength and resilience which allowed her to persevere when the love of her life, Jack passed away 49 years ago. Agnes’ faith and unconditional love of her daughters were her inspiration. Agnes was known for her kindness, quick smile and love of music. If you were lucky, she’d sing for you in her beautiful sweet voice.
The family would especially like to thank the Staff of the Veteran’s Home in Paramus who did a terrific job taking care of Agnes these past few years. Due to current circumstances all services were private. Memorial donations can be made to: NJ Veterans Home, 1 Veterans Way, Paramus, NJ 07652
