Benedetto "Benny" Pedata

Benedetto M. Pedata 79 of WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ passed away peacefully on June 9th, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. Ben was born on June 26th, 1945 in Teaneck, NJ. He was raised in Palisades Park, NJ. He enjoyed working summers on the boardwalk at the Jersey Shore with his family.

Ben served on the Paramus police department for 27 years before retiring as a Lieutenant in 1994. He served the borough with pride and professionalism.

He was a man deeply devoted to his family and friends. He lived a life full of love, kindness, and generosity. He cherished the many family vacations throughout his life, especially those to Myrtle Beach. He was lucky to make one more trip there with his whole family in the summer of 2024.

He was the beloved husband to Anne Marie for over 51 years. They enjoyed their trips to Aruba for over 20 years where they made special memories with lifelong friends. Ben was a devoted and loving father to his 4 children Dawn Reinhardt and her husband Richard, Joseph Pedata, Renee Berlamino and her husband Jimmy, Michelle Giordano and her husband Chris.

He is the proud and cherished grandfather to 11 grandchildren JT, Brittney, Samantha, Christopher, Maddison, Breanna, Tyler, LJ, Joey, Troy and Gianna. Ben was also blessed to be a great grandfather to Jayden, Evan, Leilani, Savana, Alessia, Livia, Colton, and recently welcomed baby Donovan, with another one on the way. He loved sharing stories about his life and his grandchildren loved to hear them.

Ben was predeceased by his parents, Millie and Joseph. He is the cherished brother to Joseph and his wife Edna, Dolores Tormey and her husband Mike, and Margie Rudolph and her husband Boog.

Ben will be loved, cherished, and remembered forever by his entire family.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 18th from 2PM-6PM at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road in Westwood NJ. A funeral mass will be held on June 19th at St. John The Baptist Roman Catholic Church, 69 Valley Street Hillsdale NJ, at 10:30AM. A private entombment will be held for the immediate family.
