Brendan Rooney

ROONEY, Brendan, 56, of Demarest, NJ, a stoic, bighearted man after a short illness, courageously fought, slipped into his eternal rest at Christian Health Care Center in Wyckoff, NJ on October 9, 2015. Brendan is the beloved son of the late Felix Rooney, born in Manorhamilton, Leitrim, Ireland, and Mary Rooney (nee Sheehan). Brendan, a lifelong resident of Demarest, NJ and graduate of St. Joseph’s Catholic grammar school and Northern Valley Regional High School – Demarest, NJ, was an avid angler and teller of fish stories, who loved to share the craic with his friends and family. Brendan is the cherished brother, brother-in-law and uncle to: Maryanne and James O’Toole and their children James, Liam, Maureen and Nolan; Kathleen and Gerard Lacey and their children Kaitlin and Thomas; Eileen and Joseph Mullen and their children Joseph, Margaret, Patrick and Bridget; Noreen and Joseph Andriola and their daughter Mary. Brendan will be sadly missed by his aunts and uncles on both sides of the Atlantic. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday, October 12, 2015 at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood NJ. The Funeral Mass celebrating Brendan’s life and faith will be held at Our Lady of Mercy R.C. Church, Park Ridge, NJ ( in the chapel) on Tuesday, October 13, 2015, at 10AM.
