Doug was born October 16, 1943 in Teaneck, NJ, he was the son of Mary and Walter McBride, growing up in Hillsdale, NJ. and came to be known for his humor, kindness and generosity. He met his wife Jane while she was still in high school and together they shared 59 wonderful years of marriage. His family meant everything to him. He worked for Community Life newspaper for twenty five years and later for the Recorder newspaper as advertising manager.
He was a lifetime member of the River Vale Ambulance Corps., as well as a member of Rotary Club for many years.
His legacy of service and dedication to others will be remembered by all who had the honor of working alongside him.
A talented artist, Doug found joy in capturing the beauty of the world through pencil sketches of homes, boats and portraits.
He is survived by his wife Jane, daughters Colleen, Shannon, Heather and her husband Richard and six grand children, Kayla and her husband Jordan, Zachary, Logan, Regan, Ava and Ana. Also Nephew Daniel Neal, and his wife Brandy and their son Aidan and Niece Lisa Neal. He was predeceased by his parents Mary and Walter McBride, sister MaryAnn Neal.
In lieu of flowers donations to the River Vale Ambulance Corps or St. Jude's Children Hospital for cancer would be appreciated.
Though he is gone his love, laughter, and warmth he brought into our lives will live on in our hearts forever.

An interment will occur Monday, September 22, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at Maryrest Cemetery & Mausoleum, 770 Darlington Ave, Mahwah, NJ 07430.
