

Frank V. Rumolo, 95, of Tappan, New York, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 20, 2023. Born on April 26, 1928, in Brooklyn, New York; he was the son of Sabino Rumolo and Mary Rumolo both from Brooklyn, New York. Nothing was more important to Frank than his faith, family and loving dog Mickey. He was caring, selfless, adoring, generous, and his presence and humor lit up a room. Frank could capture your attention for hours with stories about his life experiences.
After attending high school in Brooklyn, New York, Frank joined the U.S. Navy where he was stationed on the U.S.S. Purvis. After leaving the Navy, Frank married Catherine Rumolo and moved to River Vale, New Jersey where he served on the River Vale Fire Department for many years. Frank worked in data processing, and he and Catherine later went on to open Rumolo’s Town Deli in Montvale, New Jersey. Frank was a devoted Catholic, and heavily involved in the church where he served as a Deacon. He was an active member of St. Catharine’s Parish in Blauvelt, New York for many years. He led several resident prayer groups at his long-term care facility. Frank loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, and music- especially Frank Sinatra.
Frank and former spouse Catherine Rumolo were loving parents to three children. Although their marriage did not last, their friendship remained throughout his life. Frank was a devoted father and is survived by his daughter Gina DePalma and her husband Jim DePalma, his son Frank Rumolo and his wife Danielle Rumolo; sister Marie Sebastiano; and grandchildren Alyssa Semple and her husband Thomas Semple, Frankie Rumolo and Joseph Rumolo. Frank was also predeceased by his adoring son Charles Rumolo, as well as his long time partner Nancy Prunotto. Throughout his lifetime, Frank met many people along the way and made a lasting impression on each of them.
Frank will forever be adored by his children, grandchildren, friends and all who knew him. He will be missed dearly and in their hearts for eternity.
The family will receive their relatives and friends on Sunday, September 24, 2023 from 3:00-7:00 pm at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, NJ. A Mass celebrating Frank's life and faith will be held on Monday, September 25, 2023 at 10 am; at St. Anthony's Church, 36 West Nyack Road, Nanuet, NY.
