

Helen Sedlar Boyle, 100, passed away peacefully on December 30th, 2017 at her home in Emerson, NJ. Born on February 8th, 1917 to parents Stephen & Susanne (Fedorcio) Sedlar, Helen was a lifelong resident of New Jersey.
Working at the Bendix Corporation, she met her husband and love of her life John F. Boyle Jr. and they went on to have 6 children and settle into the town of Emerson where she resided for the last 67 years. She was also a longtime member of the Church of the Assumption.
Helen is predeceased by her mother, father and step-mother Mary Sedlar, her husband, 3 brothers, 2 sisters and many wonderful family members and close friends. She is survived by her brother Edward Sedlar, her children Pat (the late Donald) Bromm, Joan (Roy) Turci, Richard (Catherine) Boyle, Susan (Harold) Dietrich, Lorie (the late Tony) Sparacio and John Stephen Boyle. Grandchildren Kevin (Kelly) Bromm, Bryan (Helen) Turci, Diane (Christopher) DelGrosso, Donald (Karen) Bromm Jr., Kathleen (Robert) Iannone, Ellen Turci, Jenna Dietrich, Michael (Dawna) Sparacio, Anthony (Emily) Sparacio and John-Carlo Boyle. Helen was also blessed with 11 great grandchildren who knick-named her “GiGi”.
Helen was known as the “Matriarch” to her loving family and will be remembered for her strength, integrity, supportive nature and adventurous spirit. She was an ace at crossword puzzles and had the incredible ability to beat anyone she played at Scrabble. She was well loved and cared for, and will be missed dearly by all. Thank you for ‘“hangin’ in there” for 100 years GiGi!

Visitation at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, on Wednesday, 4-8 pm. A funeral mass will be served on Thursday, at R.C. Church of the Assumption, Emerson at 10:00 am, followed by an interment in George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus.
