

De SCISCIOLO, Elena “Helen” (nee Trezza) of Emerson, NJ, passed away on Friday, November 1, 2013. She was born on February 13, 1922 in Mt. Vernon, NY and grew up in the Bronx, NY. Beloved wife of Thomas De Scisciolo for over 60 years. She is predeceased by her parents, Elvira and Anthony Trezza. Devoted mother of her son Anthony and his wife Judy, her daughters Karen Kolb, and Constance Blischak and her late husband Michael. She had three sisters, all of who are deceased; Dolores Hochman and her husband Robert, Henrietta Marino and her husband Benedict, Josephine Healey and her husband Scott. Loving grandmother of Melissa, Michele and Nicole. Cherished great grandmother of Madison Marie, Conrad, Anna and Jayden. She is also survived her loving nieces and nephews; Elvira and James Schneider, Cathy and Benedict Marino, Francis and Sam Strait. Helen was an all around athlete in her youth. She won the P.A.L. Paddle Championship of New York City. After retiring from working for Acme Fast Freight, she raised her family. She was president of American Legion Post 269 in Emerson, a longtime parishioner of Church of the Assumption and a member of the Emerson Seniors. Helen was a great ballroom dancer and loved going on cruises. Helen worked for Lord and Taylor for 22 years in Paramus as a Sales Associate, after leaving Lord and Taylor she worked for Macys in sales. The family will receive their relatives and friends at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, NJ on Sunday,1-6PM. The Funeral Mass celebrating Helen’s life and faith will be at Church of the Assumption, Emerson, NJ on Monday at 10:30AM. Interment will follow at Westwood Cemetery, Westwood, NJ.
