Jacqueline (“Jackie,” “Nana,” “Omi”) was born to parents Constantine and Elsie Brandt on July 1, 1927 in Queens, NY. She grew up as the youngest of 3 and is preceded in death by her sister Constance and her brother Russell. In 1947, she married Kurt Westrich of Flushing, NY. They had 4 children. In her early years she worked as a key-punch operator and then at General Electric as a Dictaphone Operator. She worked until her first daughter was born and then enjoyed raising her children. On September 2, 1959, Kurt died suddenly. She always said that her marriage to Kurt was something she truly cherished.
Jackie later married Dante “Danny” Corrado in 1973. Jacqueline first met Danny after his son convinced him to join their bowling team. She frequently described Danny as a wonderful husband, father, and person. Danny died in 1987.
While Jackie remained unmarried after Danny, she developed a close friendship with her neighbor Bud Bishoff who always brought joy to her visiting grandchildren. Her relationships exemplified her kindheartedness and affable character. Even in her later years, her grandchildren often admired her active lifestyle and joked about how her social life dwarfed theirs. She, however, always made time for her family.
In retirement, Jackie traveled to places such as Alaska and Costa Rica. While experiencing the world, spreading her adventurous spirit with her family, she dependably attended the many accomplishments of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Jackie was always known for her stylish outfits, her flawless hair, and her domination of winning Left, Right, Center at holiday gatherings. She also enjoyed card games and social outings with her family and friends.
She was a Eucharistic minister and a lector at her church, Our Lady of Good Counsel in the Township of Washington, N.J. She loved God and her church.
Jackie is survived by her daughters, Karen Ladolcetta (Patrick), Lorraine Melillo (Thomas), Elisa Sudol (Robert) and her son, Russell Westrich (Merri Jayne) along with her nine grandchildren, Kim (Matthew), Elisa, Glenn (Christine), Jaclyn (Patrick), Thomas, Alexandra, Brian (Brittney), Kevin (Samantha) and Christopher (Jessica) as well as her seven great-grandchildren, Braden, Madelyn, Claire, Olivia, Hazel, Brooks & Zachary and was looking forward to the birth of her eighth great-grandchild, Shepherd, in July.
A memorial mass will be held at Our Lady of Good Counsel in Washington Township, NJ on Saturday, March 7th at 11am. The family is grateful for condolences and asks that any donations be made to Our Lady of Good Counsel.
