I just happened to look up your name to contact you. The last time I saw you was April 15, 1964. We were going home from FT.Hood after two years in the Army. We drove you home to Decateur Ave in The Bronx. Thanks for your company the years we were in the Army, rest in peace brother.

Jimmy was an inspiration to all and the memory of his life, kind words and constant compassion will always be treasured among those who knew him. Someone so special can never be forgotten.
May the loving memories ease your loss and bring all the family some comfort.


I was new at BKN and there was a report due at the main office. The person who normally did it left on vacation without showing me how it was done. It required a difficult math equation to get the results. Thankfully I am good at math, and through a lot of trial and error figured it out. I went to Chief Ardizone with the finished report for him to submit. He looked at both me and my report over his glasses very skeptically and said “Ok, Margaret, I guess we’re going to both drown together.” He obviously didn’t see how this was going to work out, yet he put his trust in me. The end result was neither one of us needed a life raft that day. The report was perfect and even more importantly for me, we earned each other’s respect. I’ve worked under a multitude of Boro Chiefs since that time, some good, others not so good. James Ardizone was by far the best and will always be appreciated and remembered. R.I.P

Met both Ardizone brothers late in my career with Sanitation. Jimmy was the quiet one with always a smile on his face. On the job and at after hour gatherings I always enjoyed speaking with him about the job or just listening to him and all our great chiefs. I’m so sad to know he has passed away, he will be missed by all. I know his great Sanitation family is waiting to greet him in heaven. Very proud to have served with both Jimmy and John. 

Met John and Jimmy in 1981 up in the Bronx. Grew close and  became very fond of the two of them.  
Jimmy the quiet,  yet strong ,  will always have a place in my heart. I am so saddened to see you go. Love u pal! Say hello to the gang.

Heartbroken to learn of Mr. A’s passing and sending love to all the Ardizone’s.  Such an amazing human who loved family above everything. Regretfully, I cannot be there in person but keeping you all in my prayers. I am truly grateful he touched mine and Melissa ‘s life.  Will miss that twinkle in his eye, smile and wisdom.

    So sorry to hear about Jimmys passing  he was a great guy.   I will keep you and your family in my prayers.   I loved growing up with the Ardizone family they were all great people.  Its a shame we all drifted apart.
