Mr. John Dominic Cerruti

CERRUTI, John Dominic, 88 of River Vale, NJ passed away Monday, October 27, 2014. John was born in Vignale, Italy to Paolo and Severina Cerruti in 1925. He resided most of his life in River Vale with his wife of 52 years Josephine (nee Comba) Cerruti.

John attended the Politecnico di Torino, Italy where he received his Doctorate in Industrial Engineering in 1953 and in 1960 he earned his Master of Science at Columbia University.

John was a mechanical engineer having worked in the aerospace industry for Curtis Wright, before moving onto the nuclear industry, where he worked for Transnuclear, Inc., retiring in 1991. He was a parishioner and Eucharistic minister at the Church of the Assumption, Emerson and a member of the Knights of Columbus.

John is survived by his wife Josephine, his four children Henry and his wife Kimberley, Claude and his wife Nancy, Paul and his husband Zachy, and Daniela and her husband Andrew Grieco, as well as his four loving grandchildren Zacharey, Amanda, Alexander and Isabella. He is predeceased by his sister Tina Cerruti.

A mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, October 30 at 10:30 am at the Church of the Assumption. Friends and relatives may gather on Wednesday, October 29 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Rd., Westwood, NJ 07675.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made in John’s name to the American Heart Association.
