

FINNIGAN, John "Jack" F., 92, of Township Of Washington, NJ, formerly of Newburgh, NY, passed away on Monday, February 23rd, 2026. John is survived by his beloved wife Barbara; his children Angus, Stuart, Andrew and his wife Kristi and their sons John and Matthew, Ian and his wife Charlotte and their children Thomas, Dawn and Peter, Kara and her partner Randy and Petra Ranches and her husband Don and their children Samantha, Jason and Jack; his step-children Heather Ryan and her spouse Greg Swift and Dan Ryan and his wife Marcy and their children Pierce and Drew as well as his two great-grandsons Jaxson and Jordon. He is predeceased by his parents, Peter and Catherine as well as his brothers Bernard and Peter.
Jack was a man of all seasons and loved adventures and challenges. He served our country in both the Navy and the Army. Later, Jack enjoyed flying his small plane, as well as living on and sailing his boat “Be Happy” along the Hudson River and Jersey shore.
After more than a decade in the military, Jack returned to New York City, working his way up from Building Engineer to Building Manager of several large buildings throughout the city. He received the Carney-Diebold Golden Service award and was a past President of New York State Association of National Power Engineers.
A Memorial Mass celebrating John's life, faith and military service will be held Saturday, March 28th, 2026 at Our Lady of Good Counsel, 668 Ridgewood Road, Township of Washington, NJ, 07676.
