

John sadly leaves behind his loving and devoted wife of 60 years, Joan, his four children, John O’Sullivan and his wife Eileen, Mary Saunders and her husband Michael, Joanne Veneziano and her husband Rich, Ann Wendrychowicz and her husband Mark. Loving grandfather to ten grandchildren Kelly and Erin O’Sullivan, Michael, Catherine, John and Caroline Saunders, Richie and Steven Veneziano, Nolan and James Wendrychowicz. Loving brother to his sister Nora McNulty and predeceased by his sister Helen McMaster and his brother Donald “Midge” O’Sullivan. The son of Irish immigrants John was born in New York City and raised in Washington Heights. John married his high school sweetheart in 1964 and moved to the Township of Washington in 1969.John was the proud owner of J. O’Sullivan Electric from 1976 - 2006 and during the course of his life he was an active member in the Knights of Columbus, Washington Township Swim Club, Fair Play Club, IBEW Local #3 as a member and instructor, multiple youth sports organizations as a coach and team sponsor. After retirement he enjoyed traveling the world with his wife Joan and participating in any activity that any of his ten grandchildren were involved in, no matter where, he was there. John was in his glory when he would take his family on a vacation, which were frequent and a highlight to all.
The family will receive their relatives and friends at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, NJ on Monday September 9th from 4 – 8PM. The Funeral Mass celebrating John’s life and faith will be held at Our Lady of Good Counsel, Township of Washington on Tuesday September 10th at 11AM.
In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made in John’s name to the American Diabetes Association.
