I can still see you joking with my mother...and God knows what you're doing to her up there.  The both of you must be driving the dear Lord crazy.  There isn't a time that I pass Mott St. that I don't think of you.  Mary Lou hasn't been well as you know and I pray that you will ask Our Lord to help her.  She loves you so much!

It's been 3 years since your passing and I still can't say your name without crying. I miss you so much. My only peace is knowing that you are with Mommy and the rest of our family who have passed. Another Fathers Day went by without you. We all miss you. I miss your jokes and the way you made me laugh all the time. I miss having our Sunday dinners at my house and how you loved bringing your grandchildren over. Your grandchildren come over when ever Jen takes them to Adrienne. I just found out about Joe's passing. My heartfelt condolences to all of you. Even though I hadn't see Joe for years, the memories I have of all of you remain with me to this day. I will always remember the laughter and fun we all had.

Yesterday we visited your gravesite. You would be so happy to see how beautiful it is decorated. We all miss you so much. Adrienne had birthday cake for us & I ate my piece & yours. We all miss you. It's still so unreal to me that you are no longer here. I can't get pass your passing. I'm with Adrienne as much as I can. It is very hard for her. I still can't get her to take some time off. John and I tried to get her to come to LBI with us but she refused. We do get her to eat with us and that in itself is a huge accomplishment. We talk about you all the time. There are times when we forget "people and names" then we all look at each other and say JOE would know the answer to this... Hope you are making them all laugh in heaven like you made all of us laugh on earth.

I knew Joe through Dr. Zeale's office. It always made my day when he came in for a visit. I would laugh so hard I would cry.I am amazed at the guest book and how it has been going on for so many months. Everytime I get an email regarding another message I think "You Go Joe!" I couldn't let today go by without sending you a note. You alway's celebrated St. Joseph's day, "Happy St. Joseph's day"!  It is so different without you here. We all miss you. Hi Joe,
Went to get my hair done yesterday. Marietta and I were talking about you and we both were laughing at some of the crazy things you would say and do. We know you were there because as we were laughing someone at Panico's received a huge Bear from Vermont Bear Company for Valentine's day. I looked at Marietta and said this is something Joe would totally send to his grandchildren. We knew you were there laughing with us. I will never forget the day John was born,you came to the hospital with a life size Ragedy Andy. The smile on your face was priceless! I have so many good memories of being your sister and growing up with you. I will always cherish them and remember my dearest brother and friend! You always took special care of me and my family and now it is my turn to do the same for your family! I love and miss you everyday. I keep Adrienne very close to me. John and I don't know what else to do for her. We were all together last week to celebrate Emily's 2nd birthday and you were so missed by all. Not a day goes by without thinking of you. I'm trying to get past the fact that you are no longer here. Your personality was so huge that everyone misses you. Today I ordered lunch at a deli and the man from the deli put a smiley face on my sandwich wrap. It was so weird because I was thinking about you all morning. I went to my Oncologist this morning for my annual check up and we talked about you for over 30 minutes. After my Drs. appointment I picked up a sandwich from the Saddle River Deli on my way back to the office. When I opened my sandwich to eat lunch and saw the smiley face on my paper wrapping, I felt it was a sign from you telling me everything was going to be alright. You were the only person I ever knew who would wright things on customer's cold cut lists and sandwiches. I miss you and wish you were still with us. Rest in peace and say hello to all our loved ones that are with you.

Joe -  We only just found out about your passing.  Since we no longer have any family left in the neighborbood news travels very slowly.  I really wish we could have said our goodbyes in person - especially since you always came to pay your respect to us whenever we lost someone.  You were a great guy with an even greater sense of humor.  The world lost one of its truly good people.  The neighborhood will not be the same without you.

You can't imagine how many times I have thought and then prayed for you!  Being a twin myself, I know the pain you are experiencing. I also know that Joe is and will be sending you signs that he is around you.  Death is like saying good bye to someone who is on a Cruise Ship.  You're at the harbor saying goodbye and waving and as the ship leaves the harbor...it gets smaller and smaller until you can't see it any more.    BUT you know that even though you don't see them they are still there!

I was out with Claudio tonight when we found out the terrible news.  Claudio and I had gone out for a rare dinner in the city without the kids....  After dinner, I said "Let's take a walk to Little Italy,  get a cup of coffee at one of the cafes and pass by Parisi Bakery... even if Parisi is closed, let's just go walk by"..   we walked down, stopped at the front of your shop and said to ourselves.. "We HAVE to come visit Joe and Adrian... it's been a while, life gets in the way and next thing you know, it's years later.."  Something prompted me to peek into the shop through the gates that were down.  I think part of me just wanted to be a part of that "inside the store fun" that you created for every customer that walked through the door. I envisioned you standing behind the counter and cracking jokes.  It was at that moment that I saw a picture on the counter with your face on it, and above it, I thought I saw two dates... my heart dropped!!!  I said "Claudio, what is that!!! I can't read clearly from here, but it looks like a picture of Joe and......" as I squinted and read, reality set in.. that time had passed and here we were, staring into a window that told us that Joe Parisi had gone to be with the Lord.  We were both crushed, standing at the gate for another 30 minutes, in shock, disbelief, sadness, pain...  Reading and re-reading the paper through the gate and closed shop.  It couldn't be. Not Joe.  Not Joe Parisi.  

The next three hours of our evening were spent reminiscing and talking about you... Joe, you were a big part of Claudio's life and for that I will be forever grateful.  All through high school and college, he spent weekends and summer vacations working at the deli with you - he knows how truly blessed he was to work for such a great guy and feel like part of your family, like another son that you took in on weekends and summers... to him, you were a great man, a father figure, a mentor, a friend... he says that he truly had the best of both worlds... The jokes, laughs, life experiences (picking on every customer that walked in or every passerby outside)... these memories are something that Claudio will cherish forever.  Your craze for cleanliness is something that rubbed off on Claudio, who is now very handy and efficient around the house and cleans really well. :)  

He shared so many stories that our stomachs hurt from laughing.  Here we are at home, stomachs upside down from laughter, but also from sadness and gut wrenching pain... we are sad and torn because it has not yet registered that you are gone...  We are heartbroken to not have been there for your wake and funeral. We know that it was probably one of the biggest funerals one has ever seen because we know just how GRAND of a person you were.  We know your generosity, your ability to make every person feel special, your love for giving unconditionally, your love for Adrian and the kids, your passion for helping others.. we know it was a unique funeral, because YOU were a unique guy, Joe.   It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye for now, Joe.  We will meet again in Heaven and we know that Heaven has definitely gained an Angel.  We also know that they are laughing like they've NEVER laughed before Joe.  Thanks for the many times you sent lard bread home with Claudio for my dad.. or for the amazing platters you set up for our parties.  We are blessed to have had you in our lives, at our wedding and other special events, we were blessed to have been to your home and shared in memories with you, Adrian and your kids.   Adrian, we wish we could take away your pain.  Just remember that you were Joe's world.  He put you first and cherished what an amazing wife he was blessed to have, always bragging about you and giving you the credit you deserved.  Rob and Jen, we know what you meant to dad, everything, everything, everything and then some.. the world... a big warm hug to both of you and your children, Jen. 

Camille, as a twin myself, I cannot imagine the pain of losing my twin sister.  I know that you will always have a bond with Joe, a bond that only twins understand. I pray that you use his strength to keep you going and keeping his memory alive.  He will always be with you in spirit.

We love you all so very much and pray that God brings you strength at this time of need.  Adrian, we will reach out to you and come see you soon.

It has been over a month since your passing and we still feel the pain as if it were yesterday. I miss you each and everyday. I miss seeing you when I come home from work. I miss your phone calls everynight telling me what Emily had on that day and how beautiful she looked. I miss you telling me everything that you and Nick did that day and how much fun you had with him. By the way Nick is your clone! I miss you telling me how many times my son came to my house each and everyday! The entire neighborhood misses your HEY YOU's and ERRRSSSSS! You are so vividly in all our minds and hearts. I don't know if you realized just how many hearts you have touched while here with us. Your funeral was one of a kind and something only you could have pulled off! May you rest in peace. I love my-brother-in-law, honestly, I am closer to my brother and sister in-laws than my own siblings and I'm even closer to their children.  So, Adrienne, Jen, Dan, Rob, April, your aunt Jen :) is always here for you. I always loved being around Joe, one of my favorite things to do is laugh and while most of our family makes me laugh, Joe was right up there with Michael at the highest level. Always great to be around! We also liked the same things so we had a lot in common.  I will miss being around you in general and thank you for always treating my family like your own at the store. You went out like a dignitary and people I tell about the services can't believe it and say you must be really important.  Well they are correct and I know you loved every minute of it from heaven. I know I'll see you again and will miss you until that day.

Thank you everyone for all of the support at such a difficult time for us. It doesn't go unnoticed. I will always miss my brother. The services he recieved and the outpouring of love was Indescribable but i would expect nothing less for Joe and I know he's smiling in heaven...

Well  my friend from little, I could not get myself to do this. Growing up with you was  the best experience of my life. It was also a adventure!!! I had the best childhood memories with you. Fausto and Susan Miraglia told me about Joe's passing. I grew up down the street from you on Amherst Drive and moved to Maryland after high school but I so remember all of you. I'm so sorry for your loss. God bless.

Joey, we grew up on the streets of Little Italy together; when my daughter was a baby she cut her teeth on the frizzele you would give her every time we came into the store. When she was a little girl and I did the laundry in the laundromat next door, she would come in and sit on the boxes of tomato cans and talk to you. She didn't even realize that you weren't part of our family!!! And she was right. We were in Italy visiting her when we got news of your passing and the three of us felt like we had lost a family member. We will all miss your kindness, your humor, and your big personality. Rest in peace now; you've worked so hard all your life.

Coming home or out our front door won't be the same. We really love Joe and will miss joking with him. The girls said, "He did so many nice for things for us, like give us money and give us ice cream". He really touched us all. Our hearts go out to your family and loved ones.
