

Lillian is survived by her beloved husband of 50 years Thoms Burns. She was the adoring mother to Christine Hughes and her husband Mike, David Burns and his wife Erin, Brian Burns and his wife Raquel. Loving Grand to Molly, Michaela, Teagan, and Ruairi. Lillian is also survived by her sisters Ann Kelly and Mary Mendoni. She was predeceased by her brother James Diskin. Lillian will be deeply missed by her family whom she loved so much including many nieces and nephews.
Lillian was devoted to her career as a nurse. She achieved her nursing degree from St. Mary’s in Hoboken. She was passionate about her work at Montefiore Medical Center as a floor nurse, the Red Cross as an R.N. and Memorial Sloan Kettering where she worked for 15 years. Lillian was always concerned about the health and wellbeing of others including her friends, family and her community.
Lillian was an enthusiastic biker. She went on many biking tours and had fond memories of biking across Canada. Lillian was a devout Irish Catholic who was proud of her Irish heritage and loved to visit her extended family back home in Ireland. Above all, Lillian enjoyed spending quality time with her family on vacation in Cape Cod at Orleans beach.
Visitation will be held on Monday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Becker Funeral Home, Westwood
Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph RC Church, Oradell
Interment to follow at Ascension Cemetery, Airmont, NY
